Shri Dwarkadhish Enlightening Wisdom Social Society is a registered, Non-Profit organization formed with the objective of advancing the well-being, education, health, and welfare of children in India without distinction of caste, class, gender, ethnicity, and religion, rural/urban, physical, or mental disability.

Shri Dwarkadhish Enlightening Wisdom Social Society was registered as an Indian Not for Profit Society in 2012 (Registration No 07/33/01/10547/12 of 2012) and has since worked closely in Malwa and Nimar regions in Madhya Pradesh.

On behalf of Shri Dwarkadhish Enlightening Wisdom Social Society (SDEWSS), it is indeed my privilege to present this annual report of SDEWSS ending March 31, 2022.

Last year the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic had precipitated a life threatening crisis in community healthcare services. SDEWSS team immediately developed an integrated response and reached to all marginalized families and children in marginalized slum sites in Ujjain. SDEWSS volunteers and staff continued to provide healthcare to the vulnerable children, youth and communities through its Mobile Health Van. Ultimate Infosoft Pvt. Ltd, District e-Governance Society and many other individual donors and volunteers for providing timely assistance. SDEWSS PACE Program is Shri Dwarkadhish Enlightening Wisdom Social Society an alternative education program for marginalized adolescent girls and young adult women, who have not ever attended the regular education system or dropped out of the regular schooling. The PACE program added two additional Drop in centers (DICs) last year. 21 young women have graduated from this program, and 19 have joined National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). We remain grateful to Human Capability foundation (HCF) for their generous support and our technical partners Ingenium Education, for developing a gender based curriculum.

With support from Nehru Yuva Kendra & Jan Ahbiyan Parishad the Youth to Power Program was launched in Shanti Nagar & Kishanpura slum community. Currently, the program runs two separate batches: one for PACE and one for the vocational skill development program. Along with Devi Awantika Samajik Sansthan, SDEWSS Laxmi Nagar and Kshipra Vihar DICs have several success stories to share of youths who have received vocational training and recruited successfully in jobs. SDEWSS organized 5 educational webinars by medical experts from RD Gardi Medical College and allied prestigious institutes to build the capacity of our staff, students and spread awareness on health, nutrition and response to COVID.

Children are the foundation of a better tomorrow. Every year, Children’s Day is celebrated in all DIC’s on November 14 by SDEWSS staff. The theme for International Children’s Day 2021 was ‘A Better Future for Every Child’. The theme is being observed in accordance with the global corona virus pandemic which has affected the rights of every child. Climate change, educational divide and mental health issues have also taken a toll on children during the pandemic. This year’s theme urges children and young people to raise their voices on issues that matter to their generation and also calls adults to understand and contribute towards creating a better future.

On this occasion, Children from all the centers played games, stories, paintings and games. SDEWSS staff gave the message with old song “Hum Honge Kamyaab, Ek Din” to the children of all the centers and distributed sweets.
